My challenges for this course are my self identified weaknesses.. Ha- hummm..
First and foremost I need to quash any apprehension I have
regarding Information and Communication technologies (ICT’s). I know my own capabilities are going to be
far outweighed by the learners I am meant to be engaging so I need to tap into
their skills and capabilities and learn from them. It is exciting to prosper
that notion, and if we look at stats concerning Generation Z they are creators,
social entrepreneurs who value inclusiveness and differentiation... as a future
aspiring teacher I think I have hit the jackpot as far as the classroom is
concerned... These Gen Z’s sound pretty okies to me (!!) and I think I am
sitting pretty if I require their help!
Have I mentioned that I totally want to be a GEN Zer (well aside from the obesity) Just look at how
cool their perspectives are in comparison to other GEN's..
On a side note... I think I do actually talk and type like GEN Z'er. A little insight into the GEN Z communication..
Loving a last minute challenge (which I am picking up is not is not really
acceptable within this unit, due to the progressive assessment nature of the
unit) I intend to curb that bad habit and stay on top of things.. I have gone
through my diary and noted all of the due dates of all assessment pieces for
the course; as I complete each assessment piece I work towards the next. The
assessment nature of this particular unit has also quashed one of my study
weaknesses - being lazy and only do what is necessary to get the highest mark I
can.... this is a good thing and I am actually reading and engaging in
unit content.
I have struggled a little with the what appears at the
beginning of the unit to be very aloof and inconclusive
assessment tasks.. I wasn't sure what was expected of me.. So I just
remind myself to kick back and let the unit unfold and the assessment tasks
jump at me along with my grasp on.
Lastly the challenge of things not going quite to plan.... which when technology
is concerned seems to gravitate towards me – a failed embedding – a wiki space
I can’t edit (EEKS). Thankfully with the assistance of the undo button... and
with the help of the ever present, obliging, supportive... (known lovingly as) “GOOG’s” I think I may very well just overcome the
obstacles...
Now to wrap things up for anther reflective blog posting my final challenge would have to be not spending too much time on sourcing little pictures and videos (which entertain me and) to work alongside my posts... Wah wahs... I always get sucked into the search... !

ReplyDeleteI also enjoyed the Gen X writing style :)
ReplyDeleteThis is a great post. I love the images you've inserted. Infographics are a great way to display information. They make it so much easier to digest information and break up the text.
